Michell McIntyre: Outreach Manager
Michell McIntyre is the Outreach Manager for the Center for Effective Government and the Manager for the Coalition for Sensible Safeguards (CSS). Her work focuses on growing and running CSS, a national alliance of environmental, labor, consumer advocacy, and public interest organizations devoted to our country's system of regulatory safeguards. CSS works to advance standards designed to enhance our quality of life and defends our current system of public protections, including clean air and water laws, worker safety laws, and laws regulating Wall Street.
Prior to her time at the Center for Effective Government and CSS, Michell was the Outreach Director of Labor & Worker Rights at the National Consumers League, where she worked to advance economic security issues facing today's working families including increasing the minimum wage, passing paid sick days legislation, fighting against all forms of wage theft and calling for paid family leave, paycheck fairness and reasonable accommodations for pregnant workers. Before entering the nonprofit sector, Michell was a political consultant for various candidates and organizations including AARP, Women's Voices Women Vote, American Federation of Teachers, and the AFL-CIO.
Michell is a graduate of Susquehanna University and while in Pennsylvania, she served on the Board of Directors for the Susquehanna Valley Women in Transition, a local domestic violence shelter.
