Brian Gumm: Senior Writer and Policy Analyst
Brian Gumm has been with the Center for Effective Government since 2006 and serves as a senior writer and policy analyst. Brian focuses on environmental and regulatory policy.
Prior to joining the Center for Effective Government staff, Brian worked as the Communications and Media Relations Director at the Alliance for Healthy Homes, a national organization that sought to protect all Americans from health hazards in residential settings. The Alliance has since merged with the National Center for Healthy Housing.
Brian has also worked as the Administrative and Outreach Coordinator for the Upper Midwest Regional Office of American Farmland Trust and as a research associate/policy analyst with the Center on Wisconsin Strategy at the University of Wisconsin—Madison.
Brian has been quoted by a number of media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal and CNNMoney. His work has appeared in several publications, and he is the co-author of a book chapter about the healthy housing impacts of Hurricane Katrina.
Brian has a B.S. in environmental policy from Northland College and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Brian is personally committed to environmental and wildlife conservation issues, and he enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and reading.
